Gas Monitoring System Detects PPM Levels of Methyl Bromide and Methyl Iodide

A new gas detector (gas monitor) designed to detect and measure low levels of methyl bromide and methyl iodide is available from PureAire Monitoring Systems. Extremely sensitive and high specific, the PureAire Air Check Advantage is capable of detecting parts-per-million concentrations of gases traditionally monitored at LEL levels, such as methyl bromide and methyl iodide. Moreover, its unique detection technique eliminates interferences from other hydrocarbons, which may be present.

The PureAire Air Check Advantage gas detector (gas detection) detects and measures methyl bromide and methyl iodide in a range of 0 to 50 ppm. This low level, substance specific response is made possible through the use of a combined electrochemical detection technique which utilizes a long life pyrolyzer to decompose the target gas into one more easily and selectively detected by an electrochemical sensor. Measurement information is displayed on a local readout and output as a 4-20 mA analog signal. Also available are built-in user selectable dual alarm relays and local alarm indicators.

It operates on 24 VDC power and may be located up to 3200 feet from a centralized controller or PLC.

Unlocking the Power Of Nitrogen In Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Why is Nitrogen So Important? Pharmaceutical manufacturers depend on nitrogen (N2), an abundant, inert gas that makes up 78% of the air we breathe, for many essential processes, including mixing raw materials, cryogenic grinding with liquid nitrogen to produce ultra-fine particles, and purging oxygen from packaging, thereby protecting product stability, extending shelf life, and ensuring […]

Helium Leaks Can Kill: Why Every MRI Facility Needs Oxygen Deficiency Monitors

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment is a diagnostic tool used in healthcare facilities. While most MRI safety focuses on magnetic field hazards, helium leaks present a less visible risk to both personnel and equipment. Liquid helium is necessary for MRI operation, but when released into an enclosed MRI suite, it can rapidly displace oxygen, creating […]

Hidden Dangers in Paint Booth Environments A single unnoticed buildup of flammable paint vapor can turn a routine spray operation into a catastrophic fire within seconds. Many facility managers and painters believe that a well-ventilated paint booth is a safe working environment. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. Paint booths are essential in the […]

Combustible Gas Detectors Explained: LEL Gas Detection, Safety Risks, and Code Compliance

Why Combustible Gas Detectors Are Necessary PureAire Combustible Gas Detectors are indispensable safety devices that continuously monitor and detect flammable and explosive gases before they reach dangerous levels. These detectors provide early warning of gas leaks or accumulations that could otherwise go unnoticed until a fire or explosion occurs. Many combustible gases, such as methane, […]
